ASE is one of the very few simulator engineering companies that have the proven capability to perform FAA approved aircraft flight testing and aerodynamic model development. ASE utilizes proprietary “state of the art” high speed, high resolution Data Acquisition System (DAS) for aircraft data recording. This laptop-based system records analog signals produced by sensors, potentiometers, an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), and the data provided by an Air Data Computer (ADC). The sampling rate exceeds 60 samples per second.
The sensor signals are digitized with a precision of 16-bit and is used to measure and record aircraft controls and surfaces position, switch status and lever conditions. The AHRS measures and records aircraft attitudes, attitude rates and body accelerations. The ADC measures and records aircraft information that is produced by the Pitot-Static System, such as Rate of Climb, Pressure Altitude and Airspeeds.
The resultant data is processed using ASE proprietary “Data Processing Software” to convert the parameters to engineering units, generate plotted data, and generate the engineering data files that will be used in the aero model development program.
ASE provides total project management and oversight of the Flight Test
Plan, briefs each mission, directs the on-board Flight Test Maneuvers, and
provides all required FAA correspondence and reports related to the Flight
Testing. ASE produced aircraft data packages are proven from FAA Level 6 through Level C/D.
